The Rippa R22 is a major step up in capability from smaller machines in the lineup. Powered by the reliable Kubota D1105 water cooled diesel engine, the R22 delivers strong hydraulic performance and durability for demanding work. With an operating weight of around 5,200 lbs, it provides the stability and lifting power needed for more serious excavation projects.

The R22 also introduces a major comfort upgrade with a fully enclosed cab with heat and air conditioning, allowing operators to work comfortably in both hot summers and cold winters. With a digging depth of about 7.5 feet, it is well suited for utility trenching, foundation excavation, drainage installation, land clearing, and heavy landscaping projects.

The R22 sits in a practical sweet spot in the lineup. It offers a significant increase in power and stability compared to the R18 while often remaining easier to transport than larger 3 ton class machines. Depending on dry trailer weight, customers may be able to haul the R22 on a 7,000 lb GVWR trailer, potentially avoiding the need to move up to heavier 10k or 14k equipment trailers. Contractors appreciate the added capability, while property owners managing larger rural properties or farms benefit from the increased reach and productivity when tackling bigger land projects.
